Sustainability & CSR

Buying food at this scale changes local economies.

Feeding hundreds of thousands of people daily consumes land, water, energy and labour, and directs significant public expenditure. Responsibility here is not a programme running alongside the business. It is a set of decisions inside it.

  • Local and direct sourcing
  • Waste diverted from landfill
  • Local hiring at every site

Commitments

Four places where our decisions actually matter.

01, Sourcing

Buy close, buy direct, buy from producers.

Local and direct procurement shortens the cold chain, improves traceability and returns a larger share of contract value to the region where the contract is being delivered. Farmer producer organisations and women's self-help groups are qualified as suppliers on the same criteria as any other vendor, no concession on food safety, but a deliberate preference where they meet it.

FPO partnerships Women's SHG engagement Regional sourcing preference
02, Waste

Produce to consumption, not to comfort.

Overproduction is the largest single source of waste in institutional catering. Consumption analytics let us forecast against actual uptake rather than nominal headcount. What remains is segregated at source, with wet waste routed to composting or authorised biogas recovery and dry waste to recycling.

  • Consumption-led production forecasting
  • Source-segregated wet and dry streams
  • Authorised composting and recovery routes
03, Resources

Energy & water

Central kitchens are energy-intensive by design. Steam recovery, efficient refrigeration, scheduled maintenance and water reuse in non-contact applications reduce the load per thousand meals, and the group's renewable energy companies advise on the generation side.

04, People

Employment & training

Food service is a large employer of semi-skilled labour. We hire locally around each facility, train to certified competence rather than task familiarity, and maintain full statutory compliance on wages and benefits as a floor, not a target.

05, Community

Nutrition & relief

Surge capacity held for disaster relief is made available to civil authorities during declared emergencies. Community nutrition support is delivered in coordination with local administration rather than as standalone activity.

Measurement

What we report, and to whom.

Sustainability claims without measurement are marketing. These are the indicators we track per contract and make available to clients on request.

IndicatorBasis of measurementReported to

Baseline and current values are contract-specific and are issued in the monthly service report or on request. We publish no aggregate claim we cannot substantiate per site.

Group alignment

A group built on the energy transition.

ANIBA GROUP's other operating companies build and advise on renewable generation. That is not incidental to us, it gives our facilities direct access to engineering advice on solar generation, energy efficiency and load management that a standalone caterer would have to buy in.

Contracting with a social procurement requirement?

Local sourcing shares, SHG engagement and employment commitments can be written into the contract and reported against monthly.
